When I was young, I was a HUGE fan of the film "Dragonslayer." It came on "Super TV," cable in Baltimore before Comcast, each time it came on, I watched. It's still a favorite of mine.

I drew this for a young student who was upset with peers insulting her hair. I did the sketch and looked for a name that fit. Ngumi is "fist" in Swahili. I love the dynamic of the Prehensile Hair.
